Home Creative Network Creative Network - London is a peer support network for anyone involve in participatory arts across London, to support each other now and build foundations for the future. In 2019, as part of my role as London Development officer for Creative Lives, I initated a series of conversations themed around creativity and inclusion in a different London borough each month, partnering with organisations including Applecart Arts, Camden Disability Action, Joy of Sound and Walworth Living Room. These events were were free to attend and open to anyone involved in participatory arts across London. During lockdown, I hosted our regular monthly meetings online and began to form a sector peer-support network. We formalised into Creative Network - London, a regional chapter network of Creative Lives. In November 2021 I started Creative Network - Old Kent Road, a free peer-support network for anyone interested in creative engagement in the Old Kent Road Area. This network was initiated through local poster call-outs. We have fortnightly lunch clubs on Thursdays at Avalon Cafe, Juno Way in South Bermondsey, as well as monthly supper clubs at The Peckham Pelican in Peckham. These meet ups have been happening for over a year, as the network has been growing. We also have an e-news for collaborator call-outs, skill-share call-outs and network events. Network outcomes have included: knitting/weaving skill shares; website design; finding flatmates; group exhibitions; pub trips; new friends; feeling at home.
